Hi there
My maternal ancestors went through a tragic period for the family from
1899 to
1901. It started with
the natural death of the father in February, 1899. then a
daughter-in-law
died just a few weeks
after giving birth in June 1900 after this his second son perished
in the
'GREAT STORM' in
Galveston, Texas in September of the same year and in April the
following
year (1901) the third
born son suddenly died at sea aboard the SS MANCHESTER CORPORATION in
Canadian waters. I believe
that as well as the usual obituary notices in the local Newport press
there would be some news
articles in the same paper. Would someone please tell me what local
paper
would have been in
existence then and was the South Wales Argus in circulation over
those
years. One further piece of
advice please, is there anyone in Newport who would do this sort of
'look-up' ???
Any help or advice would be very much welcomed
Good luck
