Hi Wendy & Mark
It took me a while to find out who a young baby, buried with my
g-g-grandparents at Christchuch Cemetery, Newport, belonged to. It turned
out that he was the baby son of a cousin of their eldest son's wife. The
baby had been been buried in the years between my g-g-grandmother and
g-g-grandfather's deaths.
I think you may have to look at the wider family to find a connection.
Best wishes
Angela

Subject: Re: [Mon] Shared Graves Question
HI Mark
Yes, I've pondered over this one too. My ggg Jones grandparents were
buried in
the same grave as a Stephen Rose aged 11, who died some eight
years before them. I've never found a connection between them.
Frustrating, isn't it? But I wouldn't mind betting there's a connection of
some sort due to a marriage somewhere in the family.

Somewhat suprisingly, the records show that Elizabeth shares her grave
with
an infant, Beatrice FOX (of the Bush Inn, Tredegar) who died 5 years
before
her. So far as I know, there is no relationship between them.
My question is: was grave re-use commonplace in this cemetery in the
1880's? Or should I be looking harder for some relationship? Five years
seems a bit of a short interval to me if they were totally unconnected?
Grateful for your views,
Best wishes
