Hello Andrew,
The West Monmouthshire edition of the Merthyr Express springs to mind.
This is a weekly broadsheet type newspaper as probably all were in the
day. Tredegar, Ebbw Vale, Nantyglo, Blaina and Brynmawr have their own
columns. My wife is currently extracting the obituaries from these
papers for Glamorgan Family History society.
The Argus is another. Tredegar library (Blaenau Gwent) holds both these
papers on micro film. Merthyr library have the West Mon. edition on
microfilm. The original Merthyr express newspapers are at Dowlais
library. They are fragile the library and don't generally let the public
browse through them. But saying that the 1939-1946 editions were on
display at the recent Imperial War museum exhibition in the Towns
Leisure Centre.
Try this link to the British Library. There is a search engine where you

Sorry I missed your military talk at Merthyr library last month.
Everyone thought it was very good. Perhaps we could book you for a talk
at Ebbw Vale branch of Gwent Family History Society (FHS) in 2006?
best regards

Hello All,
could someone give me an idea of the newspapers that served Ebbw Vale in
1904 and where would I find copies of them today?
Regards
