Yes, there are missing pieces (scattered) of the 1861 Monmouthshire census (my gg
grandfather and family is known to be on one of them, per where a child was listed as born
in later censuses, (also on Freebmd) and also it was where they were in 1851 and 1871 --
and they were not to be found anywhere else in 1861). These are apparently gone forever,
according to one commercial census web site, not just something that was skipped in
somebody's indexing. It also happened in other UK places, especially Wales.
