daughter of Mr&Mrs William H. SHEPHERD, Ferndale, and Mr. Fred J. ABRAMS, son of
Mr&
Mrs Morris ABRAMS, Regent-street, Ferndale. Miss Betty HUZZEY, Lydney, and
Miss Margaret DAVIES, Ferndale were bridesmaids and Mr. Rees DAVIES, Ferndale,
was best man.
At Aberpergwm Church the wedding took place of Mr. Walter Thomas COSSLETT,
only son of Mrs. COSSLETT, and the late Mr. William COSSLETT, Moy-road, Cardiff,
and Miss Stella Kathleen FRYER, second daughter of Mr.&Mrs.David FRYER,
Brynawel, Vale of Neath. Rev. J. Ll. THOMAS, officiated. Miss Elizabeth Patricia
FRYER (sister)was bridesmaid, best man was Mr. D.R. FRYER.
Wedding took place at Gabalfa Baptist Chapel, Cardiff, of Mr.B.D.COOPER, son
of Mr&Mrs COOPER of Wyndham-street, Treherbert, to Miss E.M. BENBOW, daughter
of Mrs. M.A. JONES, Treherbert, Rev. Samuel JONES, officiated. Mrs. E. BAILEY
was maid of honour, and Mr. T. BENBOW was best man.
Mr. Benjamin DAVIES, Gnoll-Park-road, Neath, former stationmaster at Neath
died on Sunday aged 68. A native of Ammanford, he commenced his railway career
at Pantyffynon in 1879. After a period at Llandilo he was appointed
stationmaster at Garnant and later at Landore. Finally he was moved to Neath retiring in
1927. He was a prominent member of the Gnoll-road Congregational Church. He
leaves a widow and one son.

At Portsea Parish Church E.R.A. W. DEAN son of Mr&Mrs W.H. DEAN, Danebury,
Caerleon, was married to Miss Doris CARLSSON, elder daughter of Mr. G. CARLSSON
and the late Mrs CARLSSON of Calford and Stockholm. Chief Petty-Officer
JARVIS, acted as best man, Miss A. JARVIS was the bridesmaid and the Rev. A. DATHY,
officiated.
Mr. Benjamin Talwyn EVANS, only son of Mr&Mrs William J. EVANS, of Craigfryn,
Skewen, was married on Saturday, to Miss Clarice may POLEY, youngest daughter
of the late Mr&Mrs Leyshon POLEY, of Grassmere, Neath Abbey. The Rev. D.
MORRIS, vicar officiated. Bride was attended by Miss Glenys EVANS, and best man
was Mr. Ronald REES.
Two members of the staff of the Western Mail and Echo Ltd. were married on
Saturday at Llandaff Cathedral. They were Mr. Arthur Stanley HARDY, son of Mr&
Mrs A.C. HARDY of Morlais-street, Roath, Cardiff, and Miss Hilda May LEWIS only
daughter of Mr&Mrs E.B. LEWIS, of Fairwater-avenue, Cardiff. Canon D. Akrill
JONES, officiated. The Misses Vera HARDY and Mary PERRYMAN were bridesmaids and
two child attendants, Avril CLEAR and Diana PERRYMAN. Mr. Russell HARDY was
best man.
Mr. Ernest Herbert JENKINS ("Uncle Ernest") of the Swansea Studio of the
B.B.C.- was married to Miss Elizabeth JONES of Brynmill, Swansea, at St. James
Church Swansea on Saturday. Rev. D.E.M. GLYNNE officiated.
