Hi again Angela,
Marriage Oct-Dec 1860
Bevan Walter Brecknock 11b 244
also on the same page:
Evans Margaret Brecknock 11b 244
I'm wondering if Margaret Evans was her married name? Maybe your Walter was
her 2nd husband. The 1871 census shows her as 6 years older than Walter, so
her first marriage may only have lasted a little while, maybe her birth name
was the one you're expecting to find?
Just a thought, but the 1860 marriage ties in well with the age of Richard
who was 9 in 1871? That is, of course, if Margaret Evans matches up with
Walter......
Kind regards,
Jon
Hi Jon, thank you so much for the help.
Sorry I couldn't reply sooner, I have only just read your e-mail.
It looks like the Bevan's are listed as Beaven on the 1881, at 5th Row, North Side 17
Tredegar,
I think this would be Georgetown?
I hope someone will correct me if I'm wrong, please!
Jane found the same family as yourself listed as Bevard, on the 1871 census
the address was 52 Queen Street Tredegar.
And yes Richard was age 9 on that census.
Also Jane found them on the 1861 at Wenallt Farm House Llanspyddid
Walter is listed as Watkin age 20, living with his father Richard a widower age 55,
also Margaret age 24 (Richard's daughter-in-law), and Mary age 24 (daughter of
Richard)
I've been almost driven to ripping my hair out for a few years with my Bevan family,
now I'm beginning to wonder if this is all to good to be true lol.
So here's hoping that at last, my Bevan's are found.
And thank you for looking up the marriage for me Jon, if it is a second marriage for
Margaret
then it would account for me not finding the marriage.
Regards
Angela
