Yes. You are correct. Llwellyn (jr.?) was my ggrandfather. My information, if accurate,
indicates he was born in Varteg. His father, my gggrandfather (also Llewellyn), was a
coal miner in the Abersychan Ward.
A great deal of credible research from 1851 to the present has been made available to me
on this line via one of my family members (now deceased), but his research is sketchy
prior to 1850/51 when the family emigrated to the US. It is that earlier history I am
hoping to recreate.

If the siblings were born after the 1841 Census they would not be recorded
either in the UK, may I ask is Llewellyn born 1839 your great-grandfather, and
have you searched Census records for the family in America and if so does it
state born in Wales.
There are many named Llewellyn Davis/Davies born all over the UK.
If you place Non-conformist into google it will explain to you fully what a
Non-conformist is.
