Hi Ann,
thank you for your response.
I am searching for information on a grandmother named Ruth PARSONAGE. She
was born in 1878 in Knutsford, Cheshire. Ruth's mother remarried in 1915 and
took her family to Oswestry in Shropshire. My grandmother Ruth had a baby in
1917 (My mother ) named Ruth Lorraine PARSONAGE. My mother was adopted by
another couple around 1918 or 1920 in Oswestry , Shropshire.
I have spent ten years trying to track my grandmother down. Last week I
located a long lost cousin of my mother living in Scotland. She told me via
phone that she knew my grandmother and that she was married twice. This
cousin as a young girl along with her father (Ruth's brother) use to visit
Ruth and her family in Newtown, Monmouthshire. My grandmother was married to
a Mr Owen and had three children named Stanley, Dennis and Monica. She
married again to a Mr Jones and had two children to Mr Jones named Selwyn
and Sheila. .................... and that my friends is what I have so far.
It was a long shot but I was hoping to strike lucky with someone from
Newtown knowing of this family. I don't have the first names of Ruth's
husbands.
Ann I am sorry I don't have at this moment any dates. But would have thought
Ruth married Mr Owen in the 1920s and Mr Jones later maybe in the 1930's or
late 1920's.
All my best
Mike

I think we need a little more information from you before we can tell
you
anything. The main thing being dates. What dates would your ancestors from
the OWEN, JONES and PARSONAGE lines have been in Newtown .
The only town called just Newtown in Wales is in the old county of
Montgomeryshire, is that the one you mean?
There is Cwmbran newtown in the old county of Monmouthshire but it is
always
called Cwmbran newtown and never Newtown.
