Cardiff Magistrates on Tuesday dismissed a charge against Margaret JONES, licensee of the
Bute Dock Hotel, West Bute-street, but the barmaid at the hotel Beatrice WILKINSON aged
37, and Oliver DRING, aged 36, were committed for trial at the next Quarter Sessions for
offences alleged under the Betting Act.
Mr G.V. WYNNE-JONES, son of Councillor and Mrs E.D. JONES, of Carmarthen was married at
Llandaff Cathedral on Tuesday, to Miss Rhona PIPE, daughter of Mr&Mrs F.W. PIPE, of
Rhiwbina. Mr WYNNE-JONES, has played rugby for Cardiff, Newport, Bath and Gloucestershire.
Rev. Rex MORGAN, performed the ceremony. The Misses Phyllis COUTH, Mair LLEWELLYN-JONES,
and Audrey MUSCHAWEEK, were bridesmaids and Edward TOMLEY, was best man.
Thomas Alfred DIXON, aged 37, a colliery journeyman, of Abertridwr, was fined £2. by
Caerphilly Magistrates on Tuesday for using violence to compel Edward KING, of
High-street, Abertridwr, to abstain from working at Nine Mile Point Colliery, Ynysddu.
Thomas THOMAS, of David-street, Blaengarw, was charged with doing grievously bodily harm
to Austin SALMON, of David-street, Blaengarw. Charge followed an alleged assault at the
Ocean Colliery, Blaengarw.
