Mr Basil Rees JONES, Sunny Bank, Rhiwderin, Newport, died intestate (£1,702) - (£1,702).
Daniel DUXBERRY, of Wilson's-lane, Mill Street, Abergavenny, was sentenced at the
local court on Wednesday to 6 months prison with hard labour for stealing an offertory box
from the local hospital, where his wife was inmate of the maternity ward.
Mr Sydney WEAVER who has retired from the position of Postmaster at New Tredegar, after 24
years service and Mrs WEAVER celebrate their Golden Wedding today. For 23 years Mr WEAVER
represented the South Wales Branch in the Sub-Postmasters' association of G.B. and for
many years he served on the Rhymney Valley School Managers and other local organisations.
Mr&Mrs WEAVER have seven children and fifteen grandchildren.
