Can any lister tell me if this address - 27, Upper Coed Cae, Blaenavon is
still in existence? I believe it was also known as Upper Cocha.
David
Can any lister educate me please? Are their searchable parish records for
Llanvrechra for the years prior to 1841.....specifically for families who
lived in "District 6"? Thank you!
Hi David
Some of my Ancestors were from Upper Coed Cae. They lived in what was known as
"Brights Houses". My father Arthur Bright and his twin brother Percy (both
deceased) were born there. My grandparents Gladys (nee Birkin) and William Bright moved
from there around 1939 to go live in Elgam Avenue which was the home of my Great
Grandfather Arthur Birkin. There were about 4 of these "Brights Houses" and I
think that all but one of them have since been replaced by more modern accomodation.
There is a lane however that has been called "Brights Lane" about three quarters
of the way accross that road, near to where the houses were.
Probably not much use to you, but thought it worth a mention.
kind regards
Hazel
