Subject: [MON] Benevolent Society, Abercarn
Dear Listers,
At some time in the past someone sent me a photograph with the names of the Members of the
Courts 3044, killed Abercarn in 1878.
It isn’t the best of photos and I wondered if anyone had access to a clearer copy, and
would be willing to send me it.
I’m doing a simplified family tree for a granddaughter and think it will be good to
include it. I understand it was a Benevolent Society but could anyone clarify its function
and whether it was able to offer any additional support to widows and dependents of its
member who had perished.
Best wishes,
Mary
