Thank you for that translation.
Can you possibly tell me where in Trevethin Parish it is/was?

Graig Ddu is Black Rock
Craig =Rock
Du = Black
Both words subject to change in first letters as a consequence of Welsh
'mutation' system in the language.

Hi Ann,
If you follow the link below, you will find details of all the Mon.
parishes.
http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/wal/MON/parishes.html
This is part of the UK & Ireland Genealogy site
www.genuki.org.uk which has
a great deal of data. For Mon. go to
http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/wal/MON/
Fortunately for us Mon. has one of the best sets of data on the entire site,
thanks to the hard work of many contributors over many years.
The name Graigddu is not uncommon in Mon., and according to several Google
translations means "Black Rock", but you will have to check that with
a
Welsh speaker in the list!

The Parish Church in Trevethin is dedicated to St Cadoc - so are the
churches in Raglan and Caerleon so you haven't misunderstood the
records

Thank you, but now I see I have misunderstood some records.
I had thought that St Cadoc's church was in Trevethin parish.
Now that I have the place of St Cadoc's church clear,
What and where is GRAIGDDU ?

This is the place that my gggrandfather was said to have lived.
I thought it was in Trevithin parish too, maybe I am wrong.
I can't find it.
