The marriage took place at Llandaff Cathedral of Mr. Herbert WILLIAMS, son of Mr.W.
WILLIAMS, Taffs Well, to Miss Doris M.B. THOMAS, daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. J.H.
THOMAS, Penmark, Masry-street, Llandaff North. The Rev. Canon Akrill JONES, vicar,
officiated. The bride who was given away by her brother-in-law, Mr. W. HUTCINSON,
Porthcawl, wore a gown of ivory charmeuse with side panels of lace and lace sleeves, and a
cluster of orange blossom at the waist. Her veil was embroidered net with coronet of
orange blossoms and myrtle. She carried a sheaf of Harrisii lilies and white heather. She
was attended by her sisters, the Misses Mona and Edna THOMAS, who wore lilac crepe de
chine dresses and black picture hats, and Miss Gwen WILLIAMS, sister of the bridegroom,
who wore a blue crepe de chine and black picture hat. They carried bouquets of pink and
mauve tulips. Mr. Felix WILLIAMS (brother of the bridegroom) was best man. The reception
was held at
the residence of the bride's mother.
At St. John's Church, Skewen, on Easter Monday two members of the choir- Mr. D.
Charles HODDINOTT, fifth son of Mr. and Mrs. HODDINOTT, of Broadway, Cardiff, and Miss
Mary MARTIN, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. MARTIN, of Springfield, Skewen- wre married
by the vicar (the Rev. D. MORRIS), assisted by the Rev. J.D. MORGAN, curate. The bride
attired in blue crepe, was given away by her father, and was attended by three bridemaids-
Misses A. May MARTIN, Pontardawe (cousin); Lucy BEVAN (Skewen), and Dodo HODDINOTT
(Cardiff). The bridegroom's brother was best man.
After the ceremony there was a reception at the bride's house. Later, the happy couple
left for Torquay, where the honeymoon is being spent.
The wedding of Bandmaster John Jacob MORRIS and Miss Nellie HUGHES, of Pontygwaith, took
place at the congregational church, Porth, Adjutant E. SMITH officiating. The bridemaid
was Miss HUGHES (sister of the bride), and the best man Lieutenant P. PURSER. Mr. YOUNG
presided at the organ. After the ceremony the party proceeded to the Salvation Army-hall
for the reception.

The wedding was solemnised on Wednesday at Ponthir Basptist Church, of the Rev.Edwin
Thomas SAMUEL, who recently took charge of the Llanwenarth Baptist Church Govilon, and
Miss Teresa BUCK eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David BUCK. Pentwyn, Caerleon. The
officiating ministers were the Revs. G. J. JENKINS (Oldham), formerly of Ponthir, and D.J.
BASSETT.
The wedding was solemnised at St. Peter's Church, Pentre,on Wednesday of Dr. C.R.F.
MILLAR, M.B.S.H.B. (Hillside, Cwmaman), son of Mrs. MILLAR, Alloa, Scotland, and Miss Edna
Maud JAMES, daughter of Mrs Wroth JAMES and the late Mr. Wroth JAMES, of Aelybryn,
Treorchy. The Rev. J.D. HUGHES (vicar) officiated.
The bride, who was given away by Mr. W.T.JONES (manager of Tydraw Colliery), wore a dress
of white georgette trimmed with silver lace and white fox fur, with a train of silver
cloth and orange blossom, and a veil of embroidered Brussels lace, silver leaves and
orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of white heather and lilac.
The bridemaids were Miss R. JENKINS, Pontyclun, and Miss B. THOMAS, Whitchurch (nieces of
the bride).
The best man was Jasmes MILLAR (brother). The honeymoon is to be spent touring.
The marriage was solemnised at Plasnewydd Presbyterian Church, Cardiff, on Wednesday, of
Wyndham J. JAMES, chartered accountant, Bridgend, son of the late Mr. Thomas JAMES and
Mrs. M.J. JAMES, of 12, Lochaber-street, Cardiff, and Miss Beryl M. LUKE, elder daughter
of Mr. David LUKE (Mayor of Newport, Pem) and Mrs. LUKE, of Llwyngwair Mill, Newport. The
Rev. E.P. JONES officiated. The bride , who was given away by her father, wore a gown of
of ivory georgette trimmed with pearls. Her bridal veil was of Brussel nets, held in place
by a coronet of orange blossoms. She was attended by the Misses Marion LUKE and Florence
JAMES, sisters of the bride and bridegroom respectively.
Mr. Trefor R. JAMES, Ferndale, brother of the bridegroom acted as best man. After the
ceremony a reception was held at the Royal Hotel, and Mr. and Mrs. JAMES left later for
Torquay.
