A motor accident occurred near Usk on the main Pontypool road on Whit-Monday afternoon, as
the result of which two Aberbargoed men are at present in the Pontypool and District
Hospital they are:- Bert BAKER, of 9, Pengam-road, Aberbargoed, suffering from a compound
fracture of the leg, a badly bruised shoulder, and head injuries, and William John
SYMONDS, his half-brother, of the same address, whose left leg is rather severely gashed.
BAKER was riding a motor-cycle with SYMONDS sitting on the carrier.
The machine came into collision with a motor-car belonging to Mr. WILLIAMS, a Pontypool
oil merchant.
After attention by Dr. E.L.M. HACKETT, M.C., of Usk, the injured men were conveyed to the
Pontypool Hospital.
On the main road to Ross, near Monmouth, Mr. Joseph PARRY, of 1a, Goodrich-crescent,
Newport, was riding a motor-cycle with a companion riding as pillion, when his machine
came onto contact with a motor-cycle combination driven by Mr. Frederick E. FRANCIS,19,
Miskin-street, Cardiff. Mr. PARRY was removed to the Monmouth Hospital with a compound
fracture of the right leg and other body injuries. The other men were not seriously hurt.
Elwyn HALLET, Bridge-street, Ogmore Vale, while riding a push bicycle at Laleston on
Monday skidded and collided with a wall. He sustained concussion, and had to be removed to
Bridgend Cottage Hospital where he is making satisfactory progress.
