The M.C.'s were Mr. Harry CONDIE (the fighting preacher), Councillor Fred PHILLIPS
(Penarth), Councillor C.T. CLISSITT (Newport), and Mr. Bert WEBBER (Cardiff). The judges
were Mr. Wilfred NEALE, Mr. Tom SWADLING, Mr. Fred ANDREWS, Mr. Jerry WELSH, Mr. Ernest
SPRAGG. The timekeeper was Mr. John DAVIES, while the official recorders were Messrs. J.
WILLIAMS and W. THOMAS.
The seventh annual eisteddfod at Pencoed attracted some of the most accomplished male
voice choirs and soloists in Wales, and the contests roused much enthusiam.
The president was Mr. J.T. HOWELL, Bridgend, and the conductors Alderman W.A. HOWELL and
Mr. P.T. OWEN. The adjudicators were Messrs. J.T. REES, D. THOMAS, and B. HUGHES. The
joint secretaries were Messrs. David EDWARDS, Idwal BEVAN, and David T. HUGHES. Awards:-
