BURGLARS AT PENARTH.-Attempt To Steal A Motor-Cycle.
A daring attempt at burglary was frustrated at Penarth last night by the timely
discovery of the culprits as they were in the act of leaving with their booty.
Mr. Percy PEACOCK, of 45, Arcot-street had retired for the night about 11.30
when he was disturbed by a light shining in his room, and he noticed two men in
the vicinity of his garage loading up a hand-truck. He awakened his
father-in-law, Mr. HUTTON, and together they descended to their yard, when their
appearance caused the two men to bolt.
It was discovered that a motor-cycle, two bicycles, and a truck laden with
firewood had been taken from the garage and placed outside in the Globe-lane
ready for removal.
