A choral festival at Cilgerran Parish Church was attended by a large congregation.
Mr. and Mrs.Edward DAVIES, Gwaelod-y-Garth, Pontlottyn, who are shortly leaving for
Cleveland, Ohio, U.S.A., have been presented with a marble clock and a Bible by members of
Nazareth Congregational Church. For nearly 30 years Mr. DAVIES was choirmaster and
precentor of the church.
Mrs. Blanche WITHERS, of 15, Park-place, Gilfach, Bargoed, who, as already reported in the
Western Mail, has been missing from home since last Saturday. She is 29 years of age, and
about 5ft. in height.
RECENT WILLS.
Mr. Thomas WILLIAMS, of Isabel House, Lewis-terrace, New Quay, Cardigan, master mariner,
who died on May 6 left estate of the gross value of £3,794, with net personalty, £3,693.
Probate of will, dated March 5, 1904, has been granted to his widow, Mrs. Ellen Jane
WILLIAMS. Testator left £250 to his brother, Lemuel WILLIAMS, and the residue of the
property to his wife.
Mr. Thomas DAVIES, of Waenolen, Llanrhaiadry-yn- Mochant, Montgomeryshire, farmer,
formerly of Aberhajadr, Llanrhaiadr-yn-Mochant, who died on October 10, left estate of the
gross value of £1,438, with net personalty £169. Probate of the will, dated April 14,
1919, has been granted to his son, Enoch Charles DAVIES, of Waenolen. Testator left his
property to his wife for life and then for his son , Enoch Charles DAVIES.
Miss Phyllis CARDER, daughter of Captain E.V. CARDER and Mrs. CARDER, Holmesdale, The
Walk, Merthyr, has qualified by examination in London to become a member of the Operatic
Dancing Association of Great Britain. Miss CARDER scored a notable success as danseuse in
the St. Tydfil (Merthyr) Amateur Players' recent performance of "San Toy"
(small photo next to article on page 8).
PUBLIC NOTICES.
Notice is hereby given that unless the Furniture and Effects Stored with PICKFORDS
(Limited), Cardiff, in the name of JOHN R. EVANS, Lavernock Fort, Lavernock, near Penarth,
South Wales, are Claimed, and Charges Paid Within One Month, they will be sold.
A Dinas Powis man, Bruce GREATREX, was fined £5 at Barry on Friday for driving dangerously
in Holton-road, and for having failed to produce his licence was fined 20s.
Police-constable Arthur Morris said defendant, who was sitting on the petrol tank had
three other persons astride the cycle, which was very unsteady.
Joslina TAVROGIS, of Cardiff, charged with reckless driving, was said by Police-sergeant
R. DIAMOND and Police-constable J. JOHN to have had three other persons on the machine
beside himself. The officers said the machine was swerving and unsteady. Defendant denied
the offence, and said he was taking three young women home because they had lost the last
train. He was fined 20s.
John Patrick
