Notice is hereby given that MENDEL SHEINFIELD, commonly known as MAX SHEINFIELD, of 50,
Miskin-Street, in the City of Cardiff, has applied to the Home Secretary for
Naturalisation, and that any person who knows any reason why Naturalisation should not be
granted should send a written and signed statement of the facts to the Under-secretary of
State, Home Office, London, S.W.1.

BOXING.
Billy GREEN (Taff's Well) and Danny SHEA (Aberavon), a couple of "seasoned"
welter-weights, opposed each other in the principal contest over ten rounds at Bridgend on
Saturday, the referee returned a popular decision when he declared it a draw.
In a minor bout over six rounds Stan JEHU (Maesteg)) put up a fine struggle against a
taller and heavier lad in Billy WATKINS (Pontyclun), who was returned the winner after a
good contest.
On leaving for Bigham, the Rev. W.T. JOSEPH, curate at Oystermouth, has been presented
with a wallet of notes.
Great interest was taken in a grand carnival and sports meeting at Mountain Ash on
Saturday. The procession of over half-a-mile long attracted enormous crowds along the
streets. In the carnival section there were nearly 200 entries- Following are some of the
awards.
Fancy Dress Children- 1st. Selwyn WILLIAMS; 2nd, Brinley CLARKE; 3rd. D.R. DAVIES.
Comic (Children).- 1st. Lilian LEWIS; 2nd, Douglas BANKS, Treharris; 3rd, Granville

Best Group-(Children).- Miss A. MILLS and party; 2nd, Bernard NEWMAN and party.
Mounted Character (Adults).- 1st, D.J. WATKINS; 2nd, Gwen HUGHES; 3rd, -. JONES.
Comic Adults.- 1st, Idris MORRIS; 2nd D. LLEWELLYN and H. JEREMIAH; 3rd, D. DANIEL.
Character Dress (Adults).- 1st, T. SAGE and T. PARFITT; 2nd, W. LENGMEAD; 3rd, J.
BATTRAM.
The chairman above the above committee was Albert JENKINS; treasurer, Mr. Mark Hall;
secretary, Mr. Luther LEWIS. The Hibernian Band (conductor Mr. J. REARDON) was in
attendance.
