Mr. Thomas John EVANS, a married man with one child, has been missing from his home at St.
Margaret's, Greenfield-road, Whitchurch, since Friday.
Mr. EVANS, who is 27 years of age is a sanitary inspector under the Cardiff Health
Committee, and telephoned to his wife on Friday saying that he would be home later than
usual. Late in the evening he was seen in Shakespeare-street, Roath, Cardiff.
Mrs. EVANS has sought the aid of the police, and the following description of Mr. EVANS
has been issued:- Height, 5ft.5in.; brown hair and eyes, fresh complexion, medium build,
and wearing glasses. He was dressed in the navy blue uniform of a sanitary inspector, but
without badges, and wore a trilby hat.

HEARN - BRAILLI.
Mr. Charles Frederick Day HEARN, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick HEARN, of Couch
Hill, London, was married at St. Peter's Church, Cardiff, on Wednesday, to Miss Violet
BRAILLI, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul BRAILLI, of 69, Richmond-road, Cardiff.
The bride wore a dress of ivory crepe satin, trimmed with silver lace, and the train was
lined with powder blue georgette.
The bridemaids were Miss Pauline BRAILLI (sister of the bride), and Miss Dora JOHNSON, of
Llandaff. The groomsmen were Mr. Rudolph BRAILLI, Mr. Joseph BRAILLI, and Mr. Stanley
LOCK.
The ceremony was performed by the rector of St. Peter's, the Very Rev. Michael FENNEL,
and the nuptial mass was celebrated by the Rev. Father E. J. HOBSON.
A reception was held at the Royal Hotel. The honeymoon is being spent in the South of
France. The bride's going-away costume was a biege satin beaute, with a face cloth to
match trimmed with fur.
ROSSER - DAVIES.
Mr. Gwilym ROSSER, second son of Mrs. ROSSER and the late Sergt. ROSSER, formerly of
Fishguard, and now of Moy-road, Cardiff, was married at Roath Park Congregational Church,
Cardiff, on Wednesday to Miss Doris E. DAVIES, fourth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. C.
DAVIES, of 59, Ninian-road, Cardiff.
The service was conducted by the Rev. R. E. SALMON.
The bride wore a gown of heavily embossed ivory georgette, embroidered with pearls, and
was attended by the Misses Tydfil, Nance, and Olive DAVIES (sisters of the bride) and Miss
Peggy DAVIES (friend). Mr. Sidney ROSSER (brother of the bridegroom) was best man and Mr.
Billy MORGAN groomsman.
A reception was held at Cox's Cafe, after which Mr. and Mrs. ROSSER left for Torquay,
the bride wearing a two-piece suit of pink shaded biege charmaline. The bride was formerly
gymnastic and games mistress at the County School for Girls, Aberdare.
JONES - WILLIAMS.
The marriage took place at Cardiff of the Rev. J. T. JONES, pastor of Salem Church, Briton
Ferry, and Miss Ethel WILLIAMS, who formerly served as matron of the Caerphilly Isolation
Hospital. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas JONES, of Bwlchhach,
Aberystwyth, and the bride is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Isaiah WILLIAMS,
woollen manufacturer, Narberth. The Rev. J. Penry THOMAS, Cardiff (cousin of the bride)
officiated, assisted by the Revs. David DAVIES (Caerphilly) and L. E. VALENTINE
(Llandudno). The bride who was attired in a mushroom chantilly lace frock, oiver shell
pink crepe de chine and a velour hat, was given away by her brother, Mr. W. J. WILLIAMS,
Narberth. The Misses Gladys and Evelyn JONES, nieces of the bride, acted as bridemaids.
Mr. and Mrs. John SELDON, of Bonvilston-road, Pontypridd, will celebrate their diamond
wedding to-day (Thursday). Mr. SELDON is now 85 years of age, and Mrs. SELDON 81. They
were married at Sampford Peverell Parish Church, near Tiverton, Devonshire. In 1890 they
removed to Cardiff, where Mr. SELDON was employed for many years as a journeyman tailor
with Messrs. MASTERS and Co. Later they removed to Pontypridd. There were eleven children
of the marriage, three of whom are deceased. There are seventeen grand-children and eleven
great-grandchildren. Both Mr. and Mrs. SELDON maintain great acticity and a keen interest
in all the affairs of life.
