Extracts form a lengthy will of The Late Sir Arthur Pendarves VIVIAN who died August 18,
aged 92 years.
One of those chosen to declare the will. Mr. E. U. DAVID, of Twyn-yr-hydd, Margam, Port
Talbot.
A sum sufficient to produce £80 per annum upon trust for the benefit of the clergy
assisting the vicar of St. Paul's Church, Aberavon.
Freehold premises 77, Victoria-road, Aberavon, for a residence for such curate or
assistant clergyman at the nominal rental of one shilling per annum.
A sum sufficient to produce £75 per annum on trust for the upkeep of the Church of St.
Paul, Aberavon.
Among other bequests £100 Welsh Church Fund, £30 per annum for the Glynn Vivian Home of
Rest for the Blind, a life annuity to his of £100 to his old and faithful housemaid Anne
LLEWELLYN, £50, each to William JONES, Griffith Joseph WILLIAMS of Hafod, and William
BRYANT, £50 each to his gamekeeper Henry GATE, his butler Walter GILES, and Nurse WATKINS,
if respectively in his service; £20 each to his employe's Frederick STANBURY, J.
HARRIS, Richard CUNNECOTT, William STAFFORD, Frederick RICHARDS, and John GOLDSWORTHY, if
respectively in his service and not under notice; £20 to Mrs. William LODGEY if his
trustees shall decide that she is in needy circumstances, and he directed the continuance
of any pensions paid by him.
He left his Bosahan and Aberavon estates upon trust for his daughter Caroline Mabel
COLBORNE and her heirs in tail. He left his Treath House property upon trust for his
daughter Mrs. COLBORNE, daughters Mrs. LENNOX and Mrs. Hardman JONES, £300 to each
executor, £200 to Lady Emily Wyndham QUIN, £150 to his daughter Clarice Gertrude VIVIAN.
He appointed the balances of his first marriage settlement funds in favour of his
daughters Clarice Gertrude VIVIAN and the Hon. Caroline Mabel COLBORNE, and his
grand-daughter Audrey GRAHAM, and of his second marriage settlement in favour of his
daughters Edith Evelyn LENNOX and Lilian Ursula Hardman JONES.
The death has occurred at his residence, 2, Rawden-place, Cardiff, of Mr. Max POSSART,
manager of Messrs. ELLIOTT'S Wire-rope Works, Collingdon-road, West Dock, Cardiff.
Sixty-six years of age, Mr. POSSART entered Messrs. ELLIOTT' service as a boy at the
age of fourteen and became manager when only 26. An enthusiastic angler, he was one of the
founders of the Glamorgan Anglers Club. He was equally well known as a member of the
Cardiff Conservative Club. He is survived by a widow and seven children all married.
The funeral of Mr. George EDWARDS, of 5, Eveswell-street, Newport, took place at
Christchurch Cemetery. Mr. EDWARDS was a military bandmaster, of Newport, and 50 years ago
he conducted the Pontypool Band. He is survived by three sons and three daughters.
