Perhaps I can help explain the reason.
The first 4 of the 1851 fiche were launched last weekend, at the SoG Fair
at Birmingham, and a further 3 will have been returned by the microfiche
processing company during the next week, making 7 in all. I asked the
Project Co-ordinator for the details of all 7 fiche (sub-districts covered
and alphabetical splits) so that I could
(a) load the details onto GENfair
(b) advertise the availability on our web-site
It was only this morning that I received those details.
As Ann has explained, we have been held up for a day or two before we can
load the information onto GENfair, waiting for information on some other
items from our County Sales Officer to avoid the risk of overcharging
purchasers for postage.
Please remember that the Project Co-ordinator, County Sales Officer, and
the other Society committee members and task-holders are ordinary
individuals with personal lives of their own, working for the Society at no
cost, and utilising valuable time to do so.
I took the conscious decision, for the sake of a day or two, not to
publicise them on the Society web-site until visitors (from Overseas in
particular) could buy them from GENfair, combining both announcements
together to save myself time and effort.
The web-site will thus be updated as soon as I receive this remaining
information, which I am chasing. 8-)

I sent to the County sales officer and got one anyway. - I also do not
recall seeing anything about it in the recent Gwent FHS magazine?!
If you do order from the County Sales Officer, it is four fiche at £1 each
+
postage - see the web site for more details on postage

Some of you might be wondering why the 1851 census fiche have not yet
gone onto the Gwent FHS stall at genfair. As I understand it the reason
is this.
everything that is for sale on Genfair has to be weighed so that the
postage rates can be calculated. and there was a discrepancy with one or
two items which has had to be corrected. the fiche will be on sale at
Genfair just as soon as the weighing in procedure is completed.
The Society is just as keen as everyone else to get them on sale so it
shouldn't be too long before they are available.
You don't want to pay any more for postage than you have to do you?
