GEORGE - Researching Philip GEORGE, born 25 August 1754 in Llangybi,
Monmouth, England; Father: William GEORGE, Mother: Elizabeth
Philip GEORGE and Thomas GEORGE were convicted by Oxford Circuit in
Monmouthshire in 1775 for sheep stealing. Both were sentenced and
reprieved
in lieu of transport to America. William GEORGE was sentenced to 14
years
for
receiving sheep stolen in Llanverchva by Philip and Thomas GEORGE.
Philip GEORGE, Thomas GEORGE, William GEORGE and Elizabeth GEORGE were
convicted of "inciting to riot" and fined in 1771 in Llanverchva.
