There's at least a chance that BLAENYCWM is the correct spelling - it's a
common enough place name, though I don't know whether there was one near
Abersychan. If there was, it would be at the head of a valley, i.e.
somewhere up, or part-way up, the mountainside. Have you tried this site? -

Hello Listers: Would anyone out there know of a place called
BLAEUYEWIN in the area of Abersychan. It is on my grandmother's birth
certificate, born 1900 at Ysguborddu Farm, (thank you Glyn for the
correct spelling). I have searched all the maps I can find. The
information I have is that Blaeuyewin is somewhere between Abersychan
and the above mentioned farm. Since I have no idea where this farm is ,
I do not know if it is North, South, East or West of Abersychan. Any
help at all would be greatly appreciated.
