Dear All,
I am new to the list, and thought I'd introduce myself.
My great great great grandparents were from Monmouthshire:
Thomas Edwards TURBERVILLE (1811-1877) and Mary JOHNS (1811-1868).
Thomas was an accountant and schoolmaster in Newport. If anyone has any
knowledge of the location of schools records for Newport, I would be very
pleased to hear about it. He was the son of Thomas Turberville of St Brides
and Ann Edmonds of Bassaleg. Thomas senior was a Canal Lockkeeper in
Llantarnam in 1851 Census.
Mary JOHNS was the daughter of John JOHNS - a shipbuilder in Newport.
I would be happy to share the results of my research with list members, and
would be especially pleased to hear of anyone with similar interests.
All the best
Stephen Foote
