Hello all. Sorry to say, that someone passed the virus to me. I am
concerned for your situation as it goes through address lists, so please
check your pc for the virus and clean if necessary. I think I only got it
yesterday but it definately was there. It's clean now. Be wary- it got
through my Norton and I had just updated it 3 days ago. I ran my Norton scan
and it came up clean. Checked it with a scan for that particular virus and
it showed up. Sally
OK, I don't like mentioning virii on list, but for all you people who don't
have a good virus checker, ( Why Not ??? ) I suggest you do one of the
following. If you are using Outlook Express download the latest version, No.
6 it doesn't have the same problems as the earlier versions, then with any
version, open the address book, click New, when the new contact window comes
up, in the name type, !000, and in the E-mail address window type 'Virus
Warning', click on Add, it will then tell you it is not a valid address and
do you still want to add it, click OK. That's it. The theory behind it is
that if you get the virus it will immediately try to send itself to all in
your address book, as the one you have just put in goes to the top of the
list you will get a window come up telling you that the mail you are trying
to send is not addressed to a valid address, you will then know you have a
virus. That will give you a chance to do something about it, and it will not
get sent to your friends. Take care.
