Hello Melva, Warren and the list--
Is there any record in Parish Registers of St Cadocs Church, Trevethin for
the death of Enoch DAVIES died 23 January, 1862, age about 81? Or the death
of his wife, Margaret, February, 1859?
I admit I am completely baffled by Welsh parishes and placenames; the
spelling is inconsistent, the population in the mining areas was rapidly
expanding during the nineteenth century so new parishes kept being created,
etc. I was under the impression that Trevethin was south of Blaenavon and
Mynddyslwyn was over the range of mountains/hills to the southwest??
I have a DAVIES family, who would be a generation before the DAVIES/JENKINS
marriage of 1881 who seem to go to and fro between Trevethin and Abercarn,
parish of Mynddyslwyn. Okay, DAVIES are as numerous as grains of sand on the
beach, but here goes:

[Family notes indicate that the names of all the children of this family
were: John, David, Enoch, Elias, William, Naomi, Margaret, Sarah and Ruth.
Naomi married John ABSALOM. He emigrated to the US on the same ship with
Enoch and all Enoch's children in 1863; Naomi followed later. Ruth also
emigrated to the US.]

Well Melva,
I did not find the exact information you asked for, but I did happen upon
this one entry from the Parish Registers of St Cadocs Church, Trevethin.
