There is a Morgan Morgan in the 1851 Wales census and his wife Ann ( ) and their son William Morgan in Monmouthshire, Bedwelty Parish, Village of Ebbw Vale. HO 107 2448.
I am not able to determine the birthplace for Morgan Morgan and Ann ( ). I have tried Googling the names but no luck. Perhaps the census taker mis-spelled the names.
If someone is browsing Ancestry, or other resource, and your time allows, would you interpret the birth location for those folks.
Thank you in advance for anything you can provide.
If you are researching these folks, let's talk.

G'day list
I try to keep a low profile most of the time and do my own research into
mining occupations in the 19th C. However, I am stumped at the moment.
My great-uncle was described as a latcher at Llanerch colliery. He
wasn't involved in the 1890 disaster (he was only 7 at the time). Can
anyone point me in the right direction? Or, does anyone know what a
latcher was and what did he do?
Yes, he must have latched something, but what?
Thanks in anticipation.

Hi again Ray,
The Oxford Dictionary suggests that it was a person who fastened coal trucks together for movement within mines, latch was the name given to the connecting links between trucks, hence the slang name latcher.
Best wishes,
Jon
The 1911 Wales Census Summary books record for Henry Crowhurst show him living in a apartment at 136 Barrack Hill, household number 350, however when I input the info to get a copy of the census it says no record.
However I did obtain a census copy for his wife Mary and son James living at this address but no mention of Henry. Henry was stationed in Halifax Nova Scotia as a sapper with the Royal Engineers when he married Mary Young in June of 1889. He must have been transferred back to England and Mary came over in May of 1903. Their son was born in March 1908. Mary and son returned to Canada in Nov 1912.
On James birth registration it shows Marry as being born in Halifax, Yorkshire, is should be Nova Scotia
Trying to find out what became of Henry. His parents are listed as James and Mary Crowhurst. Father listed as Vet Surgeon
Any help appreciated.
