I actually thought the dog could of eaten the pigeons and drink their water
but I guess there were no pigeons in the house at the time which is why
no-one went there for 3 weeks.

Hello
Some of my BREESE / BREEZE ancestors were living in 'Patch Houses' in
Tredegar in the 1830's.
I have a suspicion that the 'patches' were areas of open-cast or surface
mining situated where the coal seams rose to near the surface. Doubtless
the 'patch houses' were pretty primitive affairs,

Hey Bec,
Long time no speak!
I gathered from yr emails that u had "got back on track" so to speak, and
didn't need yr old Uncle Keith giving you pep talks anymore!
I'll give you a brief rundown what's been happenin with the Orchards:
Judy > has had her two titanium screws fitted, and new ceramic teeth made
and fitted ; still goin to gym twice a week, still addicted; even more of a
fanatical Pies fan than EVER, she is rabid, she is feral (only joking), but
she is very very keen to see the boys every week;
Me> getting ready to go o/seas again (leave in 9 weeks), first to Antwerp
for a week, then back to Sri Lanka for a week or so ; have got back into
golf a lil bit ; walking most nights, trying to lose a bit of weight before
I put some on in Sri Lanka (you know what I mean, all that great food!) ;
business going well, had a good 2007/2008, made a profit, record year, yada
yada yada
Em ; settled in at Deakin, 1st term over and done, exams done, 1 credit, 2
distinctions, 1 high distinction, very relieved, very happy ; still having
probs with her weight, but we are working on it ; still learning to drive
with me, got about 60 hrs up, need another 60, but she is in no hurry, very
capable, done all stuff except reverse parking! ; 2nd term starts 2 days
time, so she's off again, but comes home every weekend anyway
Lau; year going well, studying hard, very organized, very fashion conshy,
doin fashion at school, very picky about EVERYONE and what they wear ; still
in love with Dale Thomas, even though he now has a girlfriend we hear!, she
loves that boy, bit disappointed he is now taken, never mind!
The three of them are planning to go to the Copeland Trophy night together
($195 a head!) , I will still be o/s ; we all went to Sydney for the Pies v
Swannies, good win, got delayed at Syd airport on way home for 5 hrs, but so
did the Pies senior players / management, so we met Wakes, Joshy, HarryO,
Thomas, Pendles, Tarko etc , it was great, didn't mind getting delayed after
all! Gonna see the Pies v Bombers game this Sat, then me and jude going to a
Xmas in July at Beaumaris Yacht club, for the Jewellers Assoc......should be
a hoot, not!
Ok, that's all for now, keep well, enjoy the U.K!

Subject: [MON] HOLMES Family - Thank you
Just wanted to say a BIG thank you again for all those people who have
helped me so far with searching for my family in
Blackwood/Pontypool/Abersychan
area.
Yesterday my dad spoke to his brother for the first time in over 60
years!!!! They hope to meet up in August with another long lost brother
and a
collection of newly aquired nieces and nephews.
This would not have been possible without the help from people subscribing
to this group. THANK YOU all so much!
My search continues now for my dads favourite cousin Elaine Adams from
Melrose, The Broadway, Pontypool. Born around 1928. She married, but alas
we do
not know her married name. Her Mother was Ethel, and father was Archibold
Adams.
Keep up the good work guys!
Regards
Tina

Looking for info about this man - have tried googling but nothing so far. He
was my father in laws twin brother, but according to Ancestry they had
different birth dates. His father was Willie Evans, b 1890 Neath, Swansea,
Glamorgan (?), d 1983 Newport, Mon and mother Beatrice (nee Hopes) b 1892
Neath, Swansea, Glamorgan (?), d 1980 Newport, Mon. I think they lived in
Commercial Road, Newport. He wrote pretty terrible spy novels, based in
North Africa and regions, with characters like the 'seductive Irma' - any
info would be great!!

Hi John
Just an update - the Berllandeg in LLanhennock parish is the correct one, a
marriage of a Thomas FRANCIS to Sarah ROGERS 5th April 1812 in LLanhennock,
can be traced back to Crickhowell on the 1841 and 1851 census with Sarah
born Crickhowell 1781+/- 5 years.

Dear Listers,
I'm passing on a message (below) from Gerwyn Little, thanking listers for
helping to interpret "Perthlamdege" as Berllandeg.
Kind regards,
John

Hi John.
There appears to be no need for me to send you a photo copy of the will and
your explanation would make sense if Robert travelled further up the Usk
valley to LLantrissent.
Please pass my Thanks onto all who made suggestions regarding my query, I
have thanked Rhian Williams personally and also replied to a member who saw
the post from the Monmouth list? Regarding my ROGERS line.
The info supplied has given me something to chew on and hopefully take me
forward
Thank you.

Assuming the will was written by an English writer without much knowledge of

=============
Dear Jeff,
Many thanks for your suggestion, which is spot on!.
Two Powys List members have just arrived at a similar conclusion - and there
was a Berllandeg farm mentioned in the 1901 Kelly's for Monmouthshire. It
was in the parish of Llanhennock, in the Usk Valley of Monmouthshire.
I shall inform Gerwyn Little of the discovery when he returns home tomorrow.
I'm sure he'll be very pleased.
Thanks again.
Kindest regards,
John
