Hi all I have abit of a puzzle, I have been trying to find David and Elizabeth Morgan who were born about 1853 in Magor. They were brother and sister so the 1881 census states. Elizabeth was a Morgan when she married Henry Bourn in 1873 in Christchurch and on the 1891 census the surname is down as Bowen the family had moved to Roath in Glamorgan, living with Henry and Elizabeth was a David Morgan age 28 born Magor widow and down as brother inlaw also living with them are his two daughters who were born in Cadoxoton. i cant find any trace of them on the 1871 census, on Elizabeth wedding cert she states that her father was William Morgan a Lab. Family stories are that Elizabeth parents were William Morgan and Eliza Adams but after a few attempts and getting birth certs i havent found any with these parents names. On the 1891 and 1901 census Henry and Elizabeth daughter elizabeth Odessa is living with her uncle George adn Eva Morgan in Aberdare. George states that he too was bo!
rn in Magor about 1842 can anyone help me find any of these on the census and find out who exactly was Elizabeth`s parents.

You can't send photos to the list, send it direct to Anne
<smk312(a)comcast.net>
If you have an image processor like the free download Irfanview from
www.irfanview.com , you can reduce the memory used by an image using 'save
as' and reducing the amount of detail on a percentage scale. If sending
direct, an image size of up to 1Mb is usually OK.

Dear Listers,
Can anyone help me identify the church ruin shown in two old photographs on
my website? The owner of the photos writes:
------------------
The photos were in my grandfather's photo album and he came from Liverpool.
As 3 of the 4 grandparents came from Wales I thought there might be a
connection. Paternal grandparents, John Evans b. 1791 from Llanstephan
Radnorshire and Martha Walters b. 1803 from Camrose, Pembrokeshire and
maternal grandparents William Swallow b. 1813 Almondbury, Huddersfield,
Yorkshire and Elizabeth Shone b. 1813 Hawarden, Flintshire.
-------------------
The photos are accessible on my website at:
http://www.jlb2005.plus.com/mystery-photo.jpg
I'd be most grateful for any help in identifying this old church.
Kind regards,
John

I am so happy to hear that so many were and are interested in assisting in the rehabilitation of the graveyard at St. Cadoc's. Though I was glad to see the outside of the church back then, the surroundings were distressing. If a website is established, I am sure that many of us with ancestral ties to it would be very interested, even though many of us are thousands of miles away and unlikely to visit an "open day." Thank you Glyn and Nicola for your information. And does an "open day" indicate that the church is no longer in use, or what?
Thanks, Sally

John:
I do not information on the old photos, but it brought to mind to ask if you
perhaps have old pictures
Of the Wesleyan Abergavenny Church -Monmouthshire, built in 1829? My Tovey
family were baptized in
that church. Does anyone have any church records of George Tovey family
they might share?
The Tovey family removed to the Minersville (Schuylkill County),
Pennsylvania-USA area about 1845.
Thank you.

When dealing with long URLs it's often useful to use a free
address-shortening facility such as TinyURL (available via www.tinyurl.com)
to reduce the length and avoid the wrap.

The website address was split. You will need to add this -
