We would like to find out more information about William Crump b1820
Charlton Abbots,GLS. we found William in
the 1881 census in St. Woollos Monmouth, Wales, wife Ellen, dau, Phoebe
Crump 13 born Newport,Monmouth
. , William died in 1906 in Newport, Monmouth, Wales, we would like to
find out if William had other children, in 1881
census he 63 and his wife is 42 we know his dau Phoebe was born abt
1868 in Newport, how can we fine out if William and Ellen had other
children born in Wales?
We think this is William Crumps 2nd marraige, his frist wife name was
Elizabeth
we never had any idea our Crump family lived in Wales until last
week, and it's exiceting to know that they lived in Wales.
Can someone help us find out more information about this family.
Thank You,
Linda And David Crump
I have two one-name studies on the go
LAPHAM world wide
and JONES restricted to Raglan MON Wales
so any sitings are always welcome
I just picked the one family of PRICE as a random example form the listsearching for Pricekeyword chepstowin england
these sort of broad searchesare the way
I could not see a date of birth in your first enquiry
the spellings of birthplaces and fornames (and ages) are very variablefrom census to census
so best left out of a first searchwe got luckyhe might have been listed as born Walesor Monmouth(shire) Wales when in England
thanks

Hi,
I just received a marriage certificate from 1852 with residence at time of marriage listed as Cwmynysyfuwch (at least this is what I see). I can't seem to find where this is. Can anyone help? This same ancestor was living in the hamlet of Clawrplwyf during the 1851 census, but this doesn't really look like it's the same place exactly.
Also, was Mesher or Misher a common first name for a man?
Thanks so much,
Melanie Tucker

Hi Keith ,
Thankyou for taking the time to help, I think this looks like my family (or
should I say my hubby's). It certainly fits in with family stories of them
being Irish.

Hello,
I too had a problem with an immigrant Irish family knowing only the father's
name.
But, having found them on the census in 1871, and following, I found that
although the eldest two were born in Ireland before Civil Registration, the rest
of the brood were born in Dowlais. Therefore, I bought a birth certificate
for one of these children born in Dowlais, which gave me the maiden name of
the mother. In this way of course, this can give you two leads when pursuing
your Irish roots.

Hi,
I wonder if sks could have a look for Richard MURPHY born about 1855
Pontypool.
I have found him in 1901,1891 and 1881, however nothing before this.
I have not found his marriage either, He is married in all the censuses to
Anne ?
It may just be me going a bit crazy with all these pages.
Any help as always greatly appreciated
Lorraine

Jackie: Somewhere down the line in your JONES family, like for example in 1899, was there another Ebenezer JONES (probably in his 30s or older) who married an Elizabeth Mary CARTER (b. c. 1864) in the Ebbw Vale area?
I was surprised at the number of Ebenezer Jones there were at the time. Unfortunately I have used up my certificate quota for this quarter, so I know nothing at all about this Ebenezer, thus making a search for possibles impossible. Jojo
