Hi Faye,I accidentaly deleted your addss.I have a Eva Morgan in Herefordshire 1871 daughter of John and Hannah
Morgan.Aged 2.Was she the eldest of the children?
You did say she was from Hef. regards Kevin.
Hello Faye
Have you found the other family members in 1881?
If so Eva may not have been the name she was christened or registered with.
My grandmother was difficult to trace too because her
christening/registered name was quite different from the one she always
used.

Hi Faye, maybe she wasn't born when the census was taken, ie birthday later
in the year, I think the difference the census was taken in 1881 and 1901 is
a matter of weeks, so she may still have been in mummy's tummy! Either that
or she lied about her age. Regards Mick McAllister

Eva could be short for Evangeline, Evelyn, or any other forename that starts out "Ev. . . ." So try hunting for them all. Some sites are very literal, and will only search for exactly what you have listed. If the search site permits it, try "Ev*" (that is an asterisk after the Ev)-- a Bolyean (spelling?) search that will search out all names that begin with "Ev. .
." Worth a try, anyway.
ok...does anyone have any censuses that they could have a look for Ellen
Hartshorn/Gregory born in Risca, Monmouth apparently around 1850.... ( you know
they all lie!) I've got Mynyddislwyn from another census
i do have the results of the 1901, 1891 and 1881 but i need to sorta go back
a bit further than that, find out about children and the like....... doing
my head in trust me! Would appreciate that!

Fellow genealogists,
Have you ever used the Internet to learn about genealogy methods and resources? Taken a genealogy course online? Read some 'how to' articles? Then I would like to hear from you.
I am an Australian Ph.D. student who is currently writing a book chapter for an academic Virtual Learning Environment publication - my chapter is about using the Internet for genealogical education. I would therefore love to hear from you, fellow genealogists, about any Internet-based content you've used for genealogy education. This includes online courses (free or fee), how-to's, articles/columns, newsgroups, BBS, chat, mailing lists, forums, or even personal web pages that publish learning material - anything online that helps you in learning the craft of genealogy.
Your comments on the following is of utmost interest: What are your favourite learning outlets on the Internet? How often do you use them? Can or did you find what you needed online? What are your learning successes? What could be better? What do you look for in genealogical learning on the Internet?
If you would like to participate, your comments are extremely welcome. Please send your comments to me directly at research(a)veale.com.au before Saturday 1st May 2004. I thank you in advance for your participation in this academic research.
Kylie Veale
P.S. Names and email addresses will be protected and are therefore not included in the publication. Copies of the paper will be made available to interested participants on request, after the book has been published.

could SKS please let me know how I could find the mine deaths between 1825
and 1840. It is during these years that my ggg-grandfather Henry Jones
died. He is not buried with the rest of the family and his daughter Leah
Nee Jones Marshall was married dec. 30 1839 and her marriage cert. lists
her father as dead. I am sure that this happened at Pontypool,
Monmouthshire.

There are no nice photo's to be had now - in their wisdom the church

Bernadette, thanks very much for the 1891 printout of the Ball family; this
is the same family as I have in 1881 only that they are now at Rodney Wharf
instead of Rodney Parade and William sr. is now a "Mud labourer" instead of
a "labourer at Gridiron".
Still need to determine if his daughter is the Alice BALL (correct age)
married to John William SELF and the same Alice SELF (correct age) at #5
Bond St. in 1901.
I see Bond St. and Rodney Parade are nearby, could a local lister please
indicate where Rodney Wharf is?
Thanks for any assistance
Regards, Bill
