I am now in a quandary as to whether I have the correct Arthur Baker on the 1881 census. If someone has the census and the knowledge could they do an advanced search for an Arthur Baker b c1872/1873 , father William Baker (occupation Butcher),.
This is all the information I have. I have the 1881 census but could not figure out how to get the advanced search working.

The entry below is from the 1851 census.
Can anyone look for the same people in the 1841 census for me please.
I cannot find Sarah's husband, my great great great grandfather.
I have also failed to find Williams birth certificate, if anyone has any information on William Jeffries born circa 1846
I would love to know about it.

Hi, I am trying to help a friend find info about his ancestors in MON.
Would some kind person who has the 1851 index please check for David & Margaret Jones, with daughter, Sarah Jones, who was born April 25, 1849? She would have been 1 or 2 in in 1851, depending on the date of the census.
Thank you very much. Vernia

With information provided by Gwynne Wright I went to the PRO site and found that they do some online wills at £3 a throw. They only have them for 1820-29 and 1840-58 at the moment but are gradually increasing the numbers and years available from pre-58 wills.
As a result I was able to determine That one of my relatives in Denbigh was as suspected related to the Rev at Llanwern.
Thank You

My name is Lyn Baker and I am from Frankston, Victoria, Australia. I have just started researching my husbands family.
William Henry Baker (a butcher) deceased by 1881, wife Sarah ? Bird, publican of the Red Lion Hotel, Magor in 1881.
Son Arthur Baker born c 1873 came to Australia c 1898. Is the 1891 census available for lookups? I would dearly like to find if the family is still there in 1891.
Is there a general cemetery in Magor? Family is C of E. William Henry Baker would have been 40ish when he died. pre 1881. but after 1872.

Hi Gwynne - I was thinking of doing that but am not sure where to start.
Where are copies of wills/probabte kept and how easy is it to get copies of
them? In the case of Robert Salusbury it would be 1832 and for the Rev 1868.
Cheers,
Carol Salusbury-Byrne
I have posted regarding the above previously but now I am a little further on and need a little more help where possible.
The Rev was the son of Sir Robert Salusbury (bart 1795)of Cotton Hall Denbigh. I am more interested in the Cotton Hall family and inparticular one brother of Sir Robert named Thomas who I believe married Sarah Hatchett of the Owens of Tedsmore Co.Salop.
Does anyone know of any pedigree of Rev Charles that might connect back and so give further details of any possible offspring of Sarah and Thomas?
Many Thanks,
Carol Salusbury-Byrne
Sally
There are no electoral rolls between the war years pick
another date pre 1914 or post 1918.

Hello Everyone,
Many thanks to all who helped me with the new address ? for the Gwent Record
Office. I have now sent this and hopefully this one will not bounce.
Bye now,

A Mailing list for Family & Local history in Glamorgan.
My gg (William Williams) was born approx 1848.
His father was a James Williams
Baptismal record from IGI (may not be the same WW) states mother Eliza
Williams.
Would SKS with access to 1851 census 9Was there one?) try to locate.
WW later moved to Staffs and married 1871 but I assume he had family still
left resident in Monmouthshire.
Thanks

I have an old picture , which has faded a bit. It is of a man standing
with his hand on a chair. On the back of the picture , it has the name
of the photographer. It says. "H. Gosling Near, the Station,
Abersychan" Is there anyone who would know how to find the records of
the photographer, to find out who this picture is of. Does this place
still exist? Etc. Whatever Help I can get , I would really appreciate
it. Thank You. -----Joy Mowery

I have a picture painted by M.K. Morgan . Tregare Vicarage, Nr Raglan,
Momouthshire Wales. It was presented to Elizabeth Mealing. Nov. 18th
1920. Can anyone check the census for M.K.Morgan in 1920. I would
like to know a little more about this person. Elizabeth Mealing could
either be my Great Grandmother or it could be her daughter. They were
both named Elizabeth. My family seemed like they were very good friends
with the Morgans. I also have a book , Titled "My Welsh Home" written
by a John Morgan , presented to a family member. Who was John Morgan?
If anyone can answer me. I would really appreciate it.
