Could SKS help me? How do I begin to search for John Harries of Pentre, Pontypridd who had a daughter Elizabeth in Dec 1884 and was described as 'the late' at her wedding in 1908? PIP

Hello PIP, If you are looking for someone from Pentre, then you need to be on the Glamorgan list, because Pentre is in the Rhondda and not Pontypridd, an easy mistake though because
Pontypridd is very close to the Rhondda. I have the 1881 census if you have any more info on John Harries I can look him up on that for you, he might not have been married in 1881.
Cheers.
Ann.

Some time ago someone offered me, through the list, papers relating to the
LIGHT family at Pontypool. I have long deleted the original correspondence
and changed email addresses, and accordingly the offer never materialised,
so if anyone recognises this I would now be very grateful for contact.

Hello, Can anyone help me with a marriage record for James Lewis and Mary Burbage? This would have taken place between 1820 and 1840 most probably in Caldicot? Thanks in advance, Chris Rogers
Hey, this is a follow up to a previous post. I'm trying to find John
Binding and his wife Sarah on the 1851 census. I have just minutes ago
received information showing that they had two children (John and
Matilda) in 1838 and 1840 in Trevethin, Pontypool district. Now, it
looks like John Sr. didn't die until 1852 (Pontypool district) and
that his widow Sarah remarried in 1855. A cousin obtained an 1861
index entry of John Jr. still in the Trevethin area. I would really
appreciate any help with this. John Sr. must have been from
Somerset...and I have tied up most of the Johns born in the county.
Thank you,
Lucas McCaw
Hello, could somebody please do a lookup in the 1812-1837 Monmouth
marriage index for me? Any Bindon/Binding/Bendon (same name) would be
appreciated. Most of the family waited until the 1840s to move from
Somerset, but I found a birth in 1837. The parents were John Binding
and Sarah Jones. It appears that they both died around the 1841
census, and I have no further details. Perhaps the marriage entry
would list the original parishes? The birth occured in the Trevethin
area.
Thank you,
Lucas McCaw
Hi everyone, I am looking for the parish records from Ebbw Vale, in particular a baptism in 1850/51.
Does anyone know where I might find them please?
Thanks

Dear All
I would be very grateful if SKS would look up Robert PARRISH/PARISH on
the Newport 1851 census. He would have been approx 36 years old. He
had a wife Priscilla (b 1824), daughter Ann b 1841, a daughter Emma b
1849.
I have recently obtained Priscilla's death certificate and Emma was
named as the informant. I then found her on the 1891 census and she
states that she was born in Newport. I knew her sister Ann had been
born in Newport but thought they had moved back to Somerset shortly
after. I have yet to find Robert on any census and really want to find
his birthplace. I have found both the above spellings for this family
name. Thank you very much.
Deborah
Could sks see if they could find WILLIAM SQUIRES and his wife EMMA together with any of their children on the 1861 & 1871 censuses for Monmouthshire possibly in one of these areas: ABERSYCHAN, PONTNEWYNYDD or TREVETHIN. On the 1891 census, they are living at 3, Merchants Hill, Abersychan and the birth-place of both is given as Gloucestershire (4362 11 16).
Any infrmation would help towards solving a big mystery.
Thanks in advance.
David Taylor
If someone has access to 1841 census could they please help me try to find these VAUGHANS.
I have looked in the1841 index for Merthyr Cynog and Pencelli but they are not there. I now think they may have gone to live in Monmouth.
William VAUGHAN b Llandefaelog abt 1815 and son Isaac VAUGHAN b Brecknock Abt 1836. Issac's mother's name may be Mary. Wiiliam was living in Llanywern in 1881 occupation Quarryman.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Pat
Would somebody possibly be able to help me with a brick-wall, please?
Does anyone by any chance have access to the 1891 Census for Almshouse Street in
Monmouth? The folio/page etc is 4343 / 5 / 68 and I am hoping against hope that
one Henry BUTLER is living there with his wife Ellen/Eleanor/Ellena and possibly
even a child or two!
If anyone can access this info, would you be a star and e-mail as much as
possible to me, please? HB hails originally from Cork and I'm hoping that some
additional clues may come up to help me start tracing his lineage. Also, his
wife Ellen/whatever (maiden name WHEEL) is also proving a total pain to track
down!
Many thanks in advance,
Graham.
Would somebody possibly be able to help me with a brick-wall, please?
I have found an entry in an 1861 Census for Caerleon (Index only) for my MORGAN
descendants as follows:
Caerleon - 4013 12 01
Thomas 85
Charles 34
Cecelia 30
Cecelia 11
Cecelia 9
Does anybody by any chance have access to the above Census folio/page, who could
tell me:
The address;
Thomas' place of birth;
Charles' relationship to Thomas;
Charles' place of birth;
please?
This information would help unlock a whole world of secrets for me!
Yours in hope!
Graham.
Thank you so much Hazel, also thanks to Hugh Watkins It is a great site
and this is a great list.
Kind regards,

Hi
Is there a website that someone can point me at to find which areas of Monmouthshire have been indexed in the 1851 census and which haven't?
