Thanks Ian. Marvelous to see it! Am I correct in assuming that this is the
only CofE in Llanhilleth at this time?

All I know is what I've been reading. Supposedly, Llanhilledd is the old style
spelling, while moderns often spell it Llanhilleth. I think they're two
different places, though the similarily in spelling is tempting. If I read the
map right, your Llanelwedd is at:
http://uk.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?.place=Llanelwedd,+Powys&db=hc
gaz&scale=100000&X=304620&Y=251900.&cat=loc
while my Llanhilledd is at:

lient=public&Submit.x=20&addr2=&advanced=&Submit.y=5&addr3=&pc=&
X=322307&quicksearch=Llanhilleth&Y=200508&scale=100000&place=Llan

You may have to paste the url back together to see this, but they
definitely seem to be different locations.

Any advice please on how to obtain information about a marriage in 1905
in Llanhilledd? My info says they were married in the Church of England
church there, which is apparently St. Mark's.

Incidentally, you had 4 minutes of your 60th year left, not your 59th!

Dear Chris,
I recently undertook a photographic project in Crumlin, including the
area round Hillside. While Hillside itself was not part of my brief, the
modern streetplan I used shows a place of worship on the north side of
the lower (eastern) end of Hillside. I assume this is the chapel to
which you are referring.
Kind regards,
John

It would be a great help to me if SKS could find William Tresure/Treasure in the 1851 Census for Mynyddislwyn,most probably in Gelligroes. He would be 11 or 12 years old. I believe his mothers name was either Sarah or Ann and she could be about 49. I am interested to find any family and also where they all were born.
Many thanks in advance. Any help would be much appreciated.
Best wishes
Carol
