Our research note for October describes a set of microfilm with statewide
death records for 1900-1907, the years preceding the "official" date when
duplicate records were required by the Minnesota State Department of
Health. These microfilm make it relatively easy to find people who died in
Minnesota during those years.
In addition, from a death record of 1900, there's an example of why family
historians need to be obsessive about finding EVERY scrap of evidence about
the people they are searching for. This death record includes a copy of an
official birth record from a small village in Italy! What more could you
ask for!
And as always, if you want to be notified when the monthly Minnesota
research update is available, just sign up! You'll receive automatic notice.
