HI All,
Thanks to all of you who have checked in for "Roll Call" and I apologize
for not asking you to respond to me personally. I will try to remember to
ask next time. Anyone who has not responded yet please check in. They need
an updated list for elections. Thanks.
First, with the summer and vacation time upon us, I would like to ask
everyone to please send me an email if they will be away from the
site/computer for a time and they think their "Inbox" might become
"full".
This way I can let those who are trying to contact them to try back and give
a time frame. Which reminds me that there are a few pages that still refer
to Jackie's email, please update these to my email:
rwfonkenmn(a)worldnet.att.net
or the State Page:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~mngenweb/
Thanks.
Last month I asked if any of you knew of a good program for checking
broken links. You all came back with a couple of programs. I did not check
them out extensively but they seem to work well. One is at:
http://home.snafu.de/tilman/xenulink.html
and is a "free" download.
The other one is done right online:
http://validator.w3.org/checklink
We should all try to check the links on our page every so often (2-3
months) especially the pages that have many links for personal genealogy
pages.
Next I would like to ask if anyone has any ideas on how to eliminate
some of the "county email". I have received emails such as "do I need a
permit to put up a shed?" and some others that were intended for the "county
courthouse". I had "Welcome to Anoka County" on the main page and now have
changed it to "Welcome to Family Genealogy/History Pages Anoka County,
Minnesota". It seems a little long?? Any suggestions? Email me direct and we
can work to come up with something to bring to everyone.
I will stop for now. Please email me direct for any comments, concerns, or
suggestions so we can keep the list down.
Thank you,
Terri
