Because part of the problems that exist and are rampant throughout this
entire project is visitors look at a site and see "last updated 2002" and
feel like it is a waste of their time to look at the site. The main page
needs to be "updated" annually.
I just love to see an old date, especially on a site where there is a
"what's new" page and the last item entered was 2010. Trust me, it
happens.
The current year date shows everyone that the CC still cares about the
project. Or, they are lying. Not much in between.
