I wonder if you know how one can get a correction to these folks for the
1940 census? They have my mother-in-law's name extracted wrong. The
census taker put Vs instead of J's for two sisters beginning of name, went
back and corrected her sister but not her. The handwriting is interesting
to say the least.

Good Morning,
And a bountiful Thanksgiving to all.
As we get our Counties up to specs and begin to mine resources, I want
to share what I do with 'not as yet indexed' vital records found on FS.
For example: Misc Birth Records found here:
https://familysearch.org/search/collection/1920099
The records are, for now, Browse Only
https://familysearch.org/search/image/index#uri=https://familysearch.org/...
For Blue Earth County, there is a batch for Amboy that comes up 'no image'.
But for Mankato, there are both Births and Deaths.
Here is what I do to assist researchers.
I create an index from the images using four columns: Name, Date, Image
# & Notes
The index is converted from an Excel file to a searchable pdf and
uploaded to the server.
http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mnblueea/pdf-files/BE-Bir-1913-14.pdf
Link the index and include the link to the actual documents on your
Vitals page.
