Good morning everyone:
If you are retaining your county sites in MNGenWeb, please know that I have
received numerous complaints that most of the counties seem to never get
updated. Folks see the last updated dates, or no dates, and feel that no
one is doing anything in their counties and that there is never any new
material.
Also, they complain that when they have visited sites, there are little
labels on some items that say they are new, and they have seen that for
months or years on the site so they feel that is a lie..... just
sayin'.....
My goal here is not to make anyone bad and wrong. I know life gets busy
and family and jobs MUST come first. I am a strong proponent that
genealogy is not FIRST in everyone's lives. However, my goal is to help
MNGenWeb breathe some new life into it. You will see, probably within the
next week, a new TEMPORARY state page until you are able to functionally
have an election and choose a new SC. In the interim, I am taking on the
role of SC for your state as we get it re-invigorated and moving forward.
I think this will help all of you.
Once a new SC is elected from your current active membership and any new
CCs that join you, that SC will be have the prior state page turned over to
them and as soon as they are ready for it to go live, my Temp State Page
will be delinked and your new state page will go live.
So when you have a moment to updated your page, please let me know. Thanks
so very much and I'm really getting excited for MNGenWeb!
And in the words of a member of the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame who I worked
for, for about 10 1/2 years, ROCK ON!
