For whatever reason, I kind of have to backdoor MGS to find things - it's not as bad
as the, ahem, upgrade that MHS did, but not as easy to find things as it used to be.

Excellent job! Do you mind if I grab a copy of your survey for the
county pages? Did you find the MGS info online? I have to admit I
haven't gone trawling through their site yet. (Still learning all the
resources available.)

I use FaG as a source to be verified :) In this case - I'm the
one who
did that cemetery ! I was looking for some photo requests at those
grids and it was obviously a totally different cemetery than the one I
was looking for. I just went in and added the info from MGS and the
address/grids.
MGS has it listed as North Oak Park and South Bigwood American Lutheran
Cemetery with the notes:
*"Notes*
Works Progress Administration Report: "According to the recollection of
Anton Swantson: Anton E. Grinder, a boy of five, died 26 Dec 1882 was
buried in section 30 (no section 30 in Big Woods Twp) of Bigwoods
township. When this cemetery was established, his body was moved to
become the first interment." There was not a sign at the cemetery but it
is mowed and trees have been planted. Works Progress Administration
Report: notes for Bigwoods Lutheran Cemetery say that Oak Park Cemetery
is an earlier cemetery for the Big Woods Lutheran Church congregation
with 19 monuments. It was dedicated during the 5 year service of Pastor
F. Jorgenson which started on 1 July 1884."
That meshes with the marker for Anton E. Grinden, 20 Oct 1877 - 26 Dec
1882. I added all the 16 readable markers that I find.

Hi Jo!
No, I do not yet have "South Bigwoods Cemetery". But I will see if I can
get a survey done! I will see if I can contact the sexton in charge, and
maybe see if there is a volunteer nearby.
The WPA did a survey around 1935 and had this to say about the Bigwoods
Cemetery: "Owned by Big Woods Lutheran congregation. Also an earlier
cemetery for this congregation on section 15 (Oak Park Twp) T155 R40
(should be 50), with 19 monuments. First burial was Carl A. Tondrum, age
3, 1895."
That suggests what you may be looking for is the Oak Park Twp. plot the
Bigwoods Lutheran church had. As you can see on the 1916 Minnesota Plat
map[1] Oak Park is is just south of Bigwoods Twp., and section 15 has
the cemetery clearly marked[2].
There is a South Bigwoods collection on Find-a-grave[3], if you trust
there data. The do not have this collection mapped, so I don't know if
it is the correct cemetery.
