Hi fellow CCs,
My co-coordinator and I obtained permission from the St. Louis County MN
Recorder (Mark Monacelli) to place the death index online 1870-May 2000.
The
Recorder's office worked with us to place the index on a cd-rom,
which Deb
and I used to create the files for the website. I am letting you know in
case you want to contact the county recorder's office for the county that
you
coordinate. Mr. Monacelli had to contact the state of MN for the
final
permission and they were very open to the idea. We have received a lot of
positive feedback from people who cannot make it to St. Louis County, yet
alone MN to research.
If you would like to visit the website:

You obviously did this before the new law restricting access to vital
records in Minnesota became a law on 1 Aug 2000. Have you had any problems
regarding the law?
