WARDENS' HOUSE MUSEUM OPEN HOUSE APRIL 28
Come enjoy refreshments and see what's new at the Warden's House Museum
in Stillwater. Saturday, April 28 the Washington County Historical Society
Museum will be open free to the public from 1 to 4 p.m. for self-tours and
refreshments No reservations are needed. The Stillwater Business and
Professional Women host this annual event to help the Historical Society
welcome back old friends and acquaint first-time visitors with the museum. No
fee is charged, but donations are accepted and all proceeds go to benefit the
museum.
The museum was built to house the wardens of the Minnesota Territorial
Prison in 1853. It has been owned and operated by the Historical Society
since 1941. Among the interesting displays is an exhibit of territorial
prison memorabilia featuring noted desperadoes, the Younger Brothers.
Knowledgeable guides will be on hand to answer questions about the museum,
the Territorial Prison, the Carriage House renovation and local history.
The museum is located at 602 North Main Street in historic Stillwater.
Parking is available on the street and in the lot across Main Street. The
museum will be open regular hours starting May 1. Please call 651-439-5956 or
visit our web site at

interested in volunteering at the museum.
