Hello,
My name is Dena & I have been doing my best to try to find my great grandpa John Mike.
He said on his marriage application (he married my great grandma Clarissa Wooster Oct. 16,
1908 in Pine City, Pine Co., Minn by the justice of the peace) that he was born in Hungary
& that he was 19, so I figure he was born around 1889. John & Clarissa had 1 son,
my grandpa Earl Mike who was raised by her parents Thomas J. & Amanda Wooster in
Sandstone, Minn.
Acording to the 1910 census Clarissa Mike was living with her parents & she is listed
as having one baby but his name is not on there. So, I look at Ancestry.com's census
to find my Wooster, Mike family on the 1920 census in Sandstone, Minn. because that is
where they lived & that is where Earl is enumerated with Thomas Wooster, but I cannot
find him.
I did find some other Mike families but they were from Germany.
I have even had the court house people see if they could find John Mike's
naturalization papers & divorce papers, but came up with nothing.
Clarissa remarried to Emil Tuenge in 1912.
Can anyone please help me????? I have been stuck on John Mike for over 20 years &
nobody seems to be looking for him but me. It seems like he just walked off the face of
the earth.
However, on my grandpa Earl's delayed birthcertificate it said that John Mike's
residence was in Bovey, Itasca Co., Minn. BUT I cannot find him there either. The John
Mike that was around there was from Syria. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for listening to my plight. Dena
