I have adopted the boards for my counties and have looked at the new ones.
Needless to say I do not like them and not happy about the situation. It is
unfortunate that the cc's were not asked for their input as they are the
ones who have put a lot of work into their pages.
And I certainly don't like the fact that I can't do any editing, I have had
several cases where the email address had to be changed and it was very
simple to do but now it can't be done - hopefully this will be corrected.
This morning I received an email message that the URL for the county boards
have changed, again, it is now
http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=rw&p=localities.nor...
ates.minnesota.counties.roseau&o=1&maxrows=25&dir=next
Change roseau to your county.
But like all new changes it just means we have something new to learn.

Subject: [MNGEN-L] old GenConnect Boards
Jackie and all,
Are there other CC's in MN that were using the GenConnect boards that
have gone away since they have all been combined into one Rootsweb
Message Board? I really liked the GenConnect Boards and don't wish to
be an administrator for the new boards, which require that a poster be
registered with
Ancestry.com and raise some big questions in my mind
about copy right, as well as the fact that the new admins will not be
allowed to do any editing...not even at a poster's request. So I
haven't re-adopted the boards for my two counties, but am now looking
for some other query system. Does anyone have any suggestions?
