My Aunt married a British subject many decades ago. She wanted to retain her USA
citizenship so the move to Victoria, BC, Canada and that way she could go down to
Washington state, I don't remember how often she would have to do this, it was every
few years, I believe. But that way she could retain both citzenships.

birth abroad and passports. They were told never never ever say they have
DUAL CITIZENSHIP. One day when we went to Detroit to visit they accidentally
said dual and got read the riot act about not saying that because there is
no such thing as dual your either American or Canadian when you go through
the border. Remember in school they always said how can you show citizenship
and allegiance to more than one country at the same time? Unfortunately if
you are born American and ask for another citizenship you may lose your
American citizenship, but other countries are not as forceful as Americans
are. I have looked into applying for Canadian and I can, but am afraid at
some point in time I could lose my American because I CHOSE to become
Canadian. Imagine me I could be American because of birth, Canadian by
marriage, Polish by Mom and German by Dad. WOW LOL

Would anyone out there know anything about Dual Citizenship? My
Grandfather and Father were born in Italy and than became citizens of the
US. I heard that that would make me a citizen of Italy as well, is this
true and how would it work?
