Hello All,
I am trying to find my Great-grandfather who emigrated to the States from
Barrowford, near Nelson, Lancashire, England around 1910, to work in the Ford
car factory, Detroit.
His name is Richard Horn Dickinson TURNER (he was born Richard Horn DICKINSON
- his mother married soon after his birth), and he was born 10/05/1888.
He married Elizabeth Wild, and they had a son Frederick TURNER (b.1908). He
was supposed to send back for his wife & child once he was settled, but
contact was lost soon after his arrival.
As a indirect result, I (his great-grandaughter) am still on this side of the
pond, and finding it diffucult to do some research on him without actually
being in the states. If any kind soul could help, I would be v. grateful.
I can return the compliment for anyone who needs research in the UK, as I
live bear London.
A big (hopeful) thankyou!
Liz Quinn.
