As one suggestion, in familysearch, you can see all the pages from this group, just by
hitting the arrows back or forth on that one image (upper right side). Maybe there is
another entry in there somewhere that has that kind of writing mess, that you can figure
out, and compare with.

Let no one ever say of you, And say it to your shame,
That all was always beauty here, that is, until you came.

I appreciate your help. The first letter of the name is unlike any other on the page
which is why it's such a puzzle.
Thank you for taking the time to look at it.

hmm - this is a link to a document where some one has made an interpretation
of the name. The original states a female, unless that is incorrect.
The original document is a bit fuzzy and I can't seem to enlarge it to look
any better. It kind of looks like Jennie, but, I don't think that is
correct because if you look at the *J* in Jarvis, it is not even close to
the same. The second letter looks more like an *r* rather than a *H* if it
were Thomas. So, I have come to the conclusion that it must be Frannie or
Frances.
Now that opinion and a dollar will get you a cup of coffee. LOL

Here's a free link to the document in
familysearch.org:
http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#p=recordResults;bir...
You may have to cut and paste both lines of this, it's so long, but it's
free to look at, and easy to enlarge to the max. And even clear as a bell, I
can't figure it out at all.

Does anyone have the time to help decipher a name on a birth registration?
The link is posted below.
Line # 76 - The child is the 'Jarvis' female born on November 1, 1870 at
Porter Township.
It was transcribed by
Ancestry.com as 'Thomas' and that isn't correct.
She's
definitely female. I know what I think it is but don't want to cloud
anyone's perception.
The first letter of the name is not like any other on the page. Any ideas?
