I'm searching for any records for EMMA WILDE (WILDIE) who was a resident at
The Northern Michigan Asylum in 1900, later know as the Traverse City
Regional Psychiatric Hospital. It closed in the 1980's and I was told by a
State employee that any records more then 20 years old were destroyed,
except maybe an "index card" with limited information on it. He's checking
on that for me. I guess I'm hoping the records were actually given to a
historical society or something or perhaps someone who was an administrator
there may have some of the records.
This is the only good lead I have on this family and I'd hate for it to go
nowhere. There is also a possiblity that she may have died at the institute
in 1916, does anyone know of a cemetery affiliated with this hosipital or
near by that I can check for records? I live in Florida and am not familiar
with the area. The hospital is still standing, not sure of it's location
but I believe it is near the Munson Medical Center.
Thanks,
Cindy Densler
