The Humanties Text Initiative is part of the University of Michigan's Digital Library
Production Service. HTI has partnered with other University Library departments as well as
other groups such as Internet Public Library and the Library of Congress. Many digital
book collections have been made freely available to the internet community.
A collection of interest to genealogists is The Michigan County Histories collection. This
collection has been a collaborative effort of Michigan's Council of Library Directors.
The Council of Library Directors is made up of Directors from 16 Michigan colleges and
universities. Currently there are 202 volumes in 170 titles on line. You may browse or
search the text. The full text is searchable. A single search searches all 202 volumes. A
digital image of all pages including the cover is available.
